Callie Smith, Westwood’s point guard, has been selected by the Albany  Herald as a 2015 Super 6er. Super 6ers are selected from the Herald’s  area of coverage in Southwest Georgia.  Six girls and six boys are chosen from the vast pool of talent in our part of the state as outstanding basketball players that college coaches and fans in the various communities will want to watch this season.

Smith averaged 17.4 points per game while making 50% of her shots  from the floor.  The Herald says that she may be the best perimeter  shooter in Southwest Georgia.  She was an 89% shooter from the foul  line, only missing 4 free throws the entire season.  Smith came up with  3 steals per game on the defensive end of the floor helping to intensify  the Lady Cats aggressive defensive style.

The Lady Cats finished last season at 28-1, one game shy of playing in  their 5th State Championship in a row.  They were State Champs in 2013  and 2014, and runners-up in 2011 and 2012.  Good luck to the Lady  Cats in their 2015-16 season, and congratulations to Callie on this selection.
