Southwest RESA will hold a Parent’s information Session for the parents of children with ADD and ADHD on November 19, 2013 from 6-8pm with Chris Dendy, parent and Expert.
A summary of the session is below:
Ten key facts about ADHD will be reviewed including less well-known issues about common learning problems and executive function deficits. An overview of current research on the brain, the role of neurotransmitters, coexisting conditions, and a medication update will be provided. Parents will be given specific tips to help their children be more successful in school.
Topics to be addressed include:
- completing homework
- being organized
- remembering assignments
- getting started on work
- memorizing information
- completing long term projects, and
- being on time.
