Westwood Athletics

Westwood athletics play an integral role in developing qualities in students that will benefit them throughout their lives. Athletics strengthen the development of character, discipline, and leadership skills.

Varsity, B-team, Junior Varsity, and Junior Pro are offered in various sports. Depending on the grade level of the student, they may have the opportunity to participate in the following sports: football, softball, cross country, cheerleading, shotgun, basketball, track, tennis, golf, and baseball.

Westwood Booster Club

Westwood’s Booster Club has been a strong supportive arm of Westwood Athletics teams for many years because of the consistent and generous support of people and businesses such as you. We are proud of the tradition of excellence our different programs have shown over the past 50+ years in Camilla and Mitchell County. We are competitive, we are successful, and we have a tradition of winning. Thank you for your part in our success!

Here is a list of the many ways our club supports our school throughout the year:  providing meals for athletes and coaches, purchasing equipment that is needed and not budgeted for, handling concessions for all home football and basketball games, organizing the kickoff banquet, and chartering buses to any state championship games. In addition, we fund numerous requests from the athletic department throughout the year. For example, for the first time ever, we are having to purchase a shot clock for the basketball teams.

As you can see, we do a lot. Therefore, we feel the time is right to transform our Booster Club into a more consistent and professional club that can better serve our teams, coaches, and students.

Booster Club Mission

To promote athletic excellence, good sportsmanship and character while building relationships among athletes, coaches and parents in a Christian environment.

All athletes must have a physical form and GISA concussion form on file before practices begin. The forms may be printed using the links on this page or picked up in the high school office, where all forms must also be turned in. A physician must fill out the physical form, and all forms expire after 1 calendar year.

Westwood is GIAA Region 3 AA school.
