Westwood recently participated in the GISA Middle School Spelling Bee regional event held in Albany, Georgia. Phen Rubendall and Fletcher Sheffield competed against other GISA schools from southern Georgia in a spelling and vocabulary competition. Phen Rubendall, son of Dr. Stephen Rubendall and Courtney Rubendall of Pelham, Georgia, was one of the top five performers at the regional competition yielding an invitation to the GISA Middle School State Spelling Bee held at Atlanta Academy. On February 28th, Phen competed against the top GISA spellers in grades 4 through 8 progressing from round two to round three based on his excellent performance.
