Middle and High School Dress Code 2003-2004

Q & A
Middle and High School
Dress Code
2003-2004

The current dress code may be found in our student handbook. This memo is to answer any questions regarding the revisions in the dress code for 2003-2004 school year. It is our desire to maintain a certain level of excellency in our dress code and ask that our families observe the following revisions.

The revisions are as follow:

1. All blouses and shirts must have a collar and be tucked in. Tunic tops may be worn over blouses that are tucked in.
2. All slacks must be worn at the natural waist and be in good condition. No holes, tears, patches, raveled pant hems will be allowed. No excessive fads i.e. (hip hugger/low rise), or bleached blue jeans will be allowed. Belts must be worn with slacks. Regulation shorts may be worn.
3. No t-shirts will be permitted. Westwood Schools t-shirts will be permitted on Fridays and certain days at the discretion of the administration.
4. Game jerseys and cheerleading uniforms are allowed on game days with prior permission of the head coaches and administration.
5. Shoes must be as stated in our current handbook. (No flip-flop, soccer/athletic sandals, or beach sandals.)
6. Hair code for boys is the same as last year and has not been changed. This year the responsibility for keeping their hair in code rest with the student and not the faculty and staff. Boys will not be admitted to school if their hair does not meet the hair code.
7. Short shirts/blouses with white undershirts underneath may not be worn. All shirts and blouses must be tucked into slacks.

We appreciate your cooperation in the area of our dress code. We ask that parents take a part in insuring that their student comply with our dress code.

Thank you,

Dress Code Committee
